Mourinho attends Sweden-Italy to watch Man Utd players

Manchester United manager José Mourinho attended the World Cup play-off between Sweden and Italy at the Friends’ Arena. The Portuguese tactician is likely to have watched Manchester United players on the pitch. Victor Lindelof started for Sweden whilst Matteo Darmian begun the game for the azzurri.

Lindelof played a very positive game as he prevented Italy strikers from creating any sort o troubles to his side. Darmain was one of the best players on the pitch for Italy as he hit the post in the second half, creating the best chances for Italy.

Italy and Sweden will play the return leg at Milan’s San Siro on Monday night. Tonight’s result put Italy’s World Cup qualification into serious doubt but despite a negative performance, Ventura believes the result was unfair. “We did create them troubles and I think a draw should have been the minimum for us. We didn’t allow them to create many goal chances, we hit the post once, they shot once on target and they scored one goal”, the azzurri manager said.
