Mourinho reveals why he left Real Madrid, hints at Barcelona talks

Manchester United boss José Mourinho talked to Telefoot (quoted by AS) revealing that he is not going to end his career at the Old Trafford. The Special One, however, has not only talked about the future of his career but also about his past.

A former Inter and Real Madrid boss, Mourinho revealed why he left the Merengues back in 2013.

“It was my decision, my daughter wanted to stay at the University of London and I thought it was the right moment to leave. It was an important moment for my family. There are also professional reasons behind my decision. I reach the best results when I am happy and I was not happy in Madrid anymore. I wasn’t happy in my third year there.”
Mourinho was reported to be close to signing for Barcelona in 2008: “Maybe I will reveal the truth one day, there is something about my career that I want to keep secret. I will tell the truth when I will be really really really old.”
