Napoli: Liverpool target agrees to contract extension, Sarri’s pupil puts talks on hold amid Chelsea links

Napoli are focusing on their decisive Champions League clash in Liverpool but the Azzurri’s directors are also carrying on new contract talks with their star.

According to Il Mattino, both José Maria Callejon and Piotr Zielinski have agreed to sign a new contract with the San Paolo hierarchy. The Spaniard is set to end his career in South Italy while Zielinksi, a long-time target of Liverpool’s Klopp will soon pen a contract extension until 2023 with no release clauses included in his new contract with Napoli.

Elseid Hysaj, however, has put new contract talks on hold. The contract of the Albania International expires in 2021 and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is pushing to take him at Stamford Bridge.

Dries Mertens is also considering his future at the San Paolo. His contract expires in 2020 and the Belgian could decide to swap Napoli with China at the end of the season.
