Napoli’s plan to sign Juventus and Bayern target; the details

Benjamin Pavard quickly rose to prominence during the FIFA World Cup in Russia over the summer, attracting the attention of the media for his goal against Argentina in the Round of 16; as well as helping Les Blues left the trophy. Pavard currently plays for Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, who managed to hold on to the Frenchman over the summer – despite interest from Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Pavard’s current contract with out-of-form Stuttgart expires in 2021 yet he has a mere €35m release clause in his contract – with it thought that Bayern Munich are the closest to activating this. Uli Hoeness, Bayern’s President, commented on Pavard, saying: “He’s a player we like a lot.”

Napoli are struggling to come to an agreement for a new contract for Albanian left-back Elseid Hysaj, who is a target of Chelsea and, therefore, have turned their attention to Pavard, who is not only younger but can play as a full-back or as a centre-back.
