Napoli set to offer new contract to Mertens
The Belgian has been one of the most consistent players in the Serie A ever since he joined the partenopei from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2013. He is currently Napoli's 3rd highest goalscorer in history, behind Diego Maradona and Marek Hamsik.
Sky Italia claim that Napoli have made a decision about handing Mertens a new deal. Mertens' deal at the Stadio San Paolo expires next summer and Napoli are against the idea of losing the Belgian on a free transfer.
