Obiang's move to Fiorentina could break down as West Ham delay deal

The transfer of Obiang to Fiorentina seemed to be as good as done, after the player had said 'yes' to the Viola, while the clubs had agreed on a transfer fee of €10m plus bonuses.

However, in the last few hours, the English side have stopped the entire operation. The reason? They aren't fully convinced by the payment methods, which has caused this potentially deal-breaking delay.

The entourage of the player, who had agreed on a contract until 2023 with Fiorentina, is working to close the gap between the parties and satisfy Obiang's request, which for long has been to leave England and Premier League.

As learned by Calciomercato.com, West Ham's hesitation is due to the inclusion of Lille in the race, who are seemingly willing to match Fiorentina's offer but pay it earlier.
