Paper Talk: Belgium star snubs Chelsea move, Inter could sell €30m winger

The January transfer window is just around the corner and negotiations between clubs have already, secretly, begun. Juventus are close to signing Belgium International Axel Witsel from Zenit St. Petersburg despite the interest of Chelsea. The Blues’ boss Antonio Conte has met the player’s entourage offering the former Benfica star to join the Stamford Bridge hierarchy next month.

According to Tuttosport, however, Witsel, however, has snubbed a move to Chelsea as he had already found agreement with the Old Lady and wants to keep his word. The 26-year-old star was close to joining Juventus last summer, but the deal collapsed in the deadline day. Witsel was so close to joining the Serie A giants that he had been waiting for Zenit to give him green light inside Juventus’ headquarters in Turin.

Juventus are now close to finalize a € 8-10 million move for the talented midfielder who can join the club on the cheap given that his contract with Zenit ends at the end of the current campaign.

Meantime, Inter are planning to sell Ivan Perisic at the end of the season to sign either Domenico Berardi or Federico Bernardeschi. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the two Italian stars are on Inter’s transfer shortlist and new owners Suning want to free up cash to sign one of them selling the Croatia International.

PSG are said to be interested in welcoming the player’s services and an offer of € 30 million could be enough to convince Inter to sell the exciting winger.
