Paper talk: Defender snubs Chelsea move, AC Milan’s top defensive targets revealed

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger has snubbed a potential January move to Chelsea.

The Germany International is a long-time target of Antonio Conte who tried to sign the solid-rock defender last summer before he sustained a knee injury which is keeping him out of action for the opening games of the 2016-17 campaign.

According to the Italian paper Rudiger, 23, wants AS Roma stay and is not willing to listen to offers coming from the Stamford Bridge in the winter transfer window.

Meantime, Tuttosport reports that Rodrigo Caio and Mateo Musacchio top Vincenzo Montella’s shopping list for the January transfer window.

The Serie A side have made contact to sign the Brazilian defender who is also believed to be a target of Manchester United, whilst the Argentinean defender is a long time target of the rossoneri who tried to sign him last summer.

Vincenzo Montella wants to add depth to his squad and wants to sign a new centre-back in the January window as the areoplanino needs at least one new defender who can live up to the level of regular starters Alessio Romagnoli and Gabriel Paletta given that both Rodirgo Ely and Gustavo Gomez have both failed to impress so far this season.
