PSG plan €20m bid for Man City defender

PSG are in the race for Eliaquim Mangala, who is also wanted by Real Madrid, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Porto man turned out to be a flop at Manchester City, hardly living up to his potential alongside Nicolas Otamendi and Martin Demichelis, despite playing a whole 47 Premier League games and costing them €40 million.

Moving to Valencia on loan last season, the Frenchman has recovered some form by starting 30 games in Liga action with Los Che, and could now be the subject of a €20m offer.

The Parisians are looking for alternatives at the back, where Marquinhos and Thiago Silva don’t have many alternatives, beyond Presnel Kimpembe, who is being linked to Inter.

The move could be favoured by Pep Guardiola, who isn’t counting on the 26-year-old defender.

Valencia themselves were given the chance to sign Mangala for 20m at the end of the season, but baulked at the pricetag, which allowed Real Madrid to express their own interest in the French international.
