Real Madrid chase Barcelona target to replace angry Ronaldo

Real Madrid want Ousmane Dembele, according to the latest reports from Diario Gol (via the Mirror).

With star man Cristiano Ronaldo leaving because he feels ‘treated like a criminal’ by the local authorities, the Merengues are looking for a replacement, and see the Borussia Dortmund star as a replacement.

Dembele is coming off a brilliant season, enough to earn the interest of Clasico rivals Barcelona.

The 20-year-old cost Borussia €15 million last summer, and went on to have a stellar campaign, scoring ten goals and making eighteen assists in all competitions.

Ronaldo, for his part, has threatened a departure and spoken to Zinedine Zidane about his desire to leave because Spanish tax authorities have him on the hook for a 12 million bill.

Dembele, 20, was previously thought to be skeptical about a move to the Bernabeu because of a lack of playing time, something which would obviously change without Ronaldo in the picture.

There’s more: the French star was very attached to fired Coach Thomas Tuchel, something which could help potential suitors snag him.

“Thomas was always there for me, and he’s taught me a lot, he recently stated.

“He’s a very good Coach, with whom I have shared some great moments.

“I don’t know what happened. I haven’t heard anything about personal conflicts with the team, but our directors have made this decision [to sack him].”
