Alexis Sanchez to Inter: United to pay half of Chilean's salary?

Alexis Sanchez’s career in Manchester is coming to an end, as per reports published in the English media. Daily Express, Daily Mirror and Daily Star have reported the Red Devils have decided to offload their highest earner as they don’t see any value in him after lacklustre 18 months at the club.

If the reports are to be believed, Sanchez is likely to join Italian Serie A club Inter Milan, where the only hurdle is expected to be his salary of €24 million gross per season. It is expected that if the deal will go through, Sanchez’s half salary (€12 million) will be paid by United whereas the other half will be paid by the Nerazzurri.

However, it is yet to be seen if Inter will be paying for a player who as of now looks a luxury signing more than anything else. Reports from the same tabloids also mentioned that Sanchez is not the only high-profile player expected to leave Old Trafford before the beginning of the next season as striker Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba are almost certain to leave the Premier League giants as well.

Sanchez joined United in January 2018 from Arsenal in a straight swap deal which also included Henrikh Mkhitaryan. However, the Tocopilla-born has only managed to score five goals during his time at the club in 31 appearances in all competition.
