Revealed: Icardi's demands for new contract at Inter

Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi is one of the best forwards in the league and an integral part of the side currently building themselves up to challenge Juventus at the top of the Serie A table. Icardi is so valuable to the Nerazzurri that, if he were to leave, Inter may find themselves back in square one and having to work themselves up to the level of Napoli and Juventus once more - as they have been doing in recent years.

Wanda Nara, the wife and manager of Mauro Icardi, has, as per reports from the Corriere della Sera, demanded that Inter pay her husband and client a sum of €9m per season, over double what he is currently earning now. The Inter captain also has a €110m release clause which Inter Milan are very eager to move but Wanda is keen to keep or, at the very least, increase the value of.

Icardi reportedly refused Inter's first offer of €7m per season and, with things getting tense between the two parties, Real Madrid and Juventus linger in the background, waiting for an opportunity to pounce on the Argentine poacher. For now, Icardi will be focused on Inter's season and he will likely not leave in January. However, the summer is another matter and at that point, with just two years left on his contract, he may opt to depart Milan once and for all.
