They spent nineteen years side by side at Sevilla. Monchi was the general manger of the Andalusian club and Miguel Anguel Gomez used to be his closest assistant. This durable collaboration has made Sevilla one of the most important clubs in the European view : won three Europa League in a row between 2013 a 2016. Players like Rakitic, Banega and Gameiro won’t never be forgotten at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Nowadays, football has drawn a different and separate path for them: Monchi is the director of football of Roma and his former assistant is the general manager of Valladolid. Miguel Angel Gomez describes when this solid union was broken – at ForzaRoma.info:

“I was disoriented by the Monchi’s departure from Sevilla. However, he desired a new adventure, a different experience." said Gomez, who will come back to Sevilla on Sunday to face Pablo Machín's team. "I'm honest, I wanted to follow Monchi at Roma, but the agreement he had reached with the Andalusian club did not allow the release of other men from the staff. This behaviour annoyed me and I decided to go away from Seville anyway to start something new”. The story of a great collaboration has been interrupted with more than one regret. Maybe, one day the streets of Ramon Monchi and Miguel Angel Gomez will meet again.
