Some very bad news for Luciano Spalletti on the eve of AS Roma’s Serie A away clash to Empoli. The Italian tactician will have to do without Captain Francesco Totti who picked up an injury during the last pre-match training.

The club have announced through their official website that Totti is suffering a muscle injury to the flexor of his left thigh.

AS Roma have failed to unveil the player’s recovery time, stating that Totti’s physical conditions will be checked tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Totti extended his stay at the club last season and the 2016-17 campaign is said to be his last one as a professional footballer.

Totti has two goals and six assists in nine appearances in all competitions this term. Edin Dzeko is now the only centre forward at Spalletti’s disposal with the Bosnian striker who is the Serie A leading scorer at the moment with ten goals in as much games.
