Romano Exclusive: Juve and Milan tried to get Paredes in the past but failed, the latest

Leandro Paredes is having a great start to the season with Zenit as he is very consistant game after game. Roberto Mancini wanted him with his club as Paredes now has two goals and two assists in 15 appearances for the Russian club. The Argentine player was a great addition for the Russian club as he will just keep growing from here. Juventus would've loved to get him this past summer since Fabio Paratici has been scouting him for years now.

A DEAL FAILED TO HAPPEN - Juve actiually tried to acquire him 3 times: in July 2016, in January 2017 and then again in July 2017. They also had met with his agent Pablo Sabbag numerous times but Roma always resisted. The Gialorossi did not want to sell him to a direct rival and they were asking for a lot of money, which meant that Zenit was the right choice for them. Even if they failed to get him, this does not mean that Juve have stopped following him. A year ago, Adriano Galliani also tried to acquire him on a loan with an option to buy but Roma turned down their offer. Milan and Juve, both failed to get Paredes as he is now gaining value in Russia. Who knows if a Serie A return will be on the cards for him in the future...
