Rugani agent: ‘Chelsea were interested but Juve believe in him’

Davide Torchia, the agent of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, spoke to Radio Sportiva about the future of his client, with the Italian centre-back being linked heavily with a move to Chelsea during the summer just gone.

“The words of Rugani's father (who attacked the Bianconeri for the poor employment reserved by Allegri) are not a controversy to someone or to the company, but it is an incentive for the boy to take back the place. There have been many requests over the years, including Chelsea, but Juventus has never wanted to sell him because they believe in him, sooner or later we will talk about the new contract, but the club decide how and when.

Rugani’s current Juventus contract will expire in the summer of 2021 yet reported negotiations in the past weeks have been in an attempt to extend Rugani’s deal to 2023.
