Rumour: Chilean journalist claims Arsenal star will stay

04 July at 14:40
Alexis Sanchez looks like he’s staying put, if a Chilean journalist is right.

Insider Juan Luis claims that the Gunners striker “won’t be going anywhere”.

This story comes a few hours after news broke that Bayern Munich weren’t going to pursue the Chilean international, with president Uli Hoeness playing down the link with the 28-year-old star.

The story is a shock considering the tensions there have been between Sanchez and the Gunners, from his benching in the Champions League defeat to Bayern to his apparent smiling on the touchline as the Emirates side went down to a 10-2 aggregate defeat.

Repeatedly linked to the likes of PSG, Manchester City and Juventus, the former Udinese man has been accused by Bayern of asking for excessive wages.

Hoeness believes that the £250,000-a-week deal he is on is too much. He’s still managed 30 total goals for Arsenal this season, plus thirteen more assists.
