Sevilla director of football Joaquin Caparros, spoke to Marca about the rumours linking the Spanish club with a move for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard is not happy in South West London and according to several reports, the Spanish club is ready to make an offer to sign the former Juventus star in the January window.

Caparros has confirmed the interest of the Spanish club in Morata: “We are interested but it’s a complicated negotiation”, he said. “The player wants to join Sevilla but Chelsea are not an easy club to speak with”.

Morata joined Chelsea for € 80 million in summer 2017 but the former Real Madrid striker has failed to justify his price-tag at the Stamford Bridge. In his one-year and a half spell at Chelsea, Morata has only managed 24 goals in 72 appearances, not enough for the Blues to finish among the top four last season.

The Blues are now looking for a striker to sign in January with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Mauro Icardi who are both being linked with a move at the Bridge.
