It’s official: Fabio Grosso, one of the heroes of Berlin 2006, will not be part of the Italian team defending the world title in South Africa in less than a month. Together with Grosso, Antonio Candreva is excluded from Coach Marcello Lippi’s list of 30 announced last week. During their stay at the training camp, Italy will play two friendly matches, the first Thursday, June 3 in Brussels against Mexico, the second Saturday 5th against Switzerland in Geneva. They will leave for South Africa in the evening of 8 June. Here is the complete list of the 28 called: Goalkeepers: Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Naples), Marchetti (Cagliari), Sirigu (Palermo); Defenders: Bocchetti (Genoa), Bonucci (Bari), Cannavaro (Juventus), Cassani (Palermo), Chiellini (Juventus), Criscito (Genoa), Maggio (Napoli), Zambrotta (Milan); Midfielders: Camoranesi (Juventus), Cossu (Cagliari), De Rossi (Roma), Gattuso (Milan), Marchisio (Juventus), Montolivo (Fiorentina), Palombo (Sampdoria), Pepe (Udinese), Andrea Pirlo (Milan); Forwards: Borriello (Milan), Di Natale (Udinese), Gilardino (Fiorentina), Iaquinta (Juventus), Pazzini (Sampdoria), Quagliarella (Naples), Giuseppe Rossi (Villarreal).
