Spurs told to pay £22m for Walker replacement

According to reports in the London Evening Standard, Spurs want Porto’s Ricardo Pereira to be the replacement for Manchester City bound Kyle Walker. The 23-year-old has spent the last two seasons out on loan at French side Nice but the journal understands that his parent club are confident the club from the capital will pay their £22M asking price in order to get their man.

Pereira is adept at playing on either flank although he does prefer his right side and is renowned for his attacking prowess. Boss Mauricio Pochettino is understood to be ready to give young England star Kieran Trippier a more permanent role in the team next season but wants an experienced back-up.

Walker should complete his £50M move to The Etihad in the next 24 hours with Sheffield born player stating that he wants to be nearer to his family. His relationship with Pochettino broke down towards the end of last term after he was omitted from some high-profile matches.
