Transfer news: boost for Madrid as Chelsea reach agreement with Hazard replacement

According to what has been reported by German sports outlet Bild, Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle to sign Borrusia Dortmund’s young American wonderkid Christian Pulisic. Pulisic has been a target of a number of top clubs and Jurgen Klopp will be especially frustrated that Chelsea managed to attract the Dortmund star, who he has been a big fan of for sometime and considers himself to have a close relationship with. The deal is reportedly to cost Chelsea around €50m but what does this mean for Eden Hazard?

Many consider a move for Pulisic as Chelsea’s contingency plan for an Eden Hazard departure; Real Madrid eager to bring the Belgian to the Spanish capital – with interest dating back to the World Cup and the interest which sparked Chelsea’s €200m price-tag in the summer. However, with a potential heir line up, Chelsea could opt to let Hazard go and, if this is the case, Madrid will likely be his destination.
