Transfer news: Milan's plan to sign Italian starlet

04 January at 12:00
According to what has been reported by Sky Sport, AC Milan have hatched a plan to sign Cagliari's Italian starlet Nicolo Barella. The central midfielder would certainly help assist Milan in the area they are lacking most in, providing a much cheaper but arguably better value-for-money option than the likes of Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas and Barcelona's Denis Suarez; all of whom have been linked, however optimistically, with a move to Milan.

Leonardo's plan to bring Barella to Milan is to wait until the summer, when the Rossoneri can properly launch an assault for the Cagliari man, instead focusing on other, older options during the January market.
