Van Bommel believes Psv could have qualified instead of Tottenham

Psv manager Mark van Bommel spoke to media after his side’s 1-1 draw against Inter. The result allowed Tottenham to qualify for the last 16 stage of the Champions League kicking Inter out of the competition.

“I think we played well”, the former AC Milan star said during a post-match press conference. “We could have qualified even if it was very complicated and we have to be realistic.”

“Things could have changed when we played against Inter at home. Handanovic should have been sent off but this group was very complicated and we managed to finish with two points, we could have had four if Inter didn’t score 20 minutes before the final whistle. However, two points are still better than one.”

“I don’t care about Barcelona-Tottenham. We showed that we can compete with everybody, one point at San Siro is still a good achievement”.

Barcelona and Tottenham have qualified for the last 16 stage while Inter will play in Europa League from February.
