'Varane who?': Italian papers respond to Messi and Ronaldo out of Ballon d'Or podium
It is now almost official, Ronaldo and Messi will most likely not be a part of the Ballon d'Or podium, as Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane and Luka Modric look to take the three first positions in the race for the biggest individual prize. Meanwhile, Italian papers have responded to the exclusion of the Juventus star. Corriere dello Sport were harsh and wrote of a real 'slap' for CR7, while Tuttosport questioned the inclusion of Raphael Varane instead of the Portuguese superstar.
