Watford-Arsenal: team news and predicted line-ups

  • Matt Reed
The Gunners are in the midst of a seven-match unbeaten run, which dates back prior to the international break, but how will Arsenal look when they return to the pitch on Saturday?

Last time out, Arsene Wenger's men picked up a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, but this weekend's clash with Watford promises to be a difficult one.

Wenger will have to potentially deal with making several changes to his starting XI after injuries to Shkodran Mustafi and Lauren Koscielny threaten the status of the team's back three.

Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez and Sead Kolasinac are both game-time decisions after recent layoffs. The good news for Wenger though is that Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck should be in contention to make a difference at Vicarage Road.

In Wenger's time in charge with the Gunners, the Frenchman is 8-2 against the Hornets, however, Watford picked up a victory when the sides last met in January.

Arsenal will be looking to continue its ascent towards the top four in the Premier League, with the Gunners currently fifth place in the table.

Next up for the club after Saturday is a road trip to Serbia as Arsenal takes on Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Europa League on October 19.

Watford XI: Gomes; Femenia, Mariappa, Kabasele, Holebas; Coucoure, Capoue, Carrillo, Cleverley, Richarlison; Deeney
