West Ham: Bilic to replace Zaza with Daniel Sturridge

According to The Mirror, West Ham United have become the front-runners in the race to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

The journal claims that the 27-year-old England international has finally run out of patience with boss Jurgen Klopp after being left on the sidelines for much of the season so far. The man from Birmingham has made eight appearances this season but half of these have been from the substitute’s bench as the exceptional form of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutino and Sadio Mane, continues to see Sturridge being overlooked by the German tactician.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is open to a move to off-load Italian striker Simone Zaza in January, with the 25-year-old reportedly on his way back to parent club Juventus after a nightmare few months in East London. With Napoli having already proposed an exchange involving Zaza and their own Italian international, Manolo Gabbiadini, it’s believed Bilic would prefer buying a player already familiar with the Premier League.
