West Ham centre-back arrives in Germany ahead of loan deal

West Ham prodigy Reece Oxford has touched down in Germany ahead of his season-long loan move to Borussia Monchengladbach, the Daily Mail reports.

The 18-year-old has flown over for advanced talks with the Bundesliga side, with negotiations to set to be wrapped up soon and deal put in place that would make the Oxford a player for Dieter Hecking’s side for next season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur academy player created a storm in the 2015-16 season, earning appearances in both the Premier League and the Europa League.

During which time, he was putting in impressive performances and was tipped by many pundits to be a future West Ham and England captain.

But with the lack of appearances at the London Stadium last season, the Edmonton-born player needs game time to grow and development, which is why the Hammers have decided to put him on a season-long loan abroad.

West Ham supporters can rest assured, though, as it is also thought that the east-London side are not looking to accept any permanent deals with for their highly-rated teenage star.
