What if Paulo Sousa leaves? Four men who could replace him as Fiorentina boss

No secret that the relationship between Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa and the club’s owners Andrea and Diego Della Valle is not as good as it used to be at the beginning of the season.

The Portuguese tactician is experiencing the same that both Cesare Prandelli and Vincenzo Montello had went through before him, which means lack of quality signings which would increase Fiorentina’s level allowing the team to fight for a Champions League spot every year.

Fans are also sick and tired about this situation which has been repeating itself for very long time and if the club will not guarantee a decent summer transfer window, Paulo Sousa could decide to leave the Franchi at the end of the current campaign.

CM.com’s Claudio Masini highlights the four managers who could replace the Portuguese boss as Fiorentina manager.

EUSEBIO DI FRANCESCO – The Della Valle brothers are long term admirers of the Sassuolo gaffer who’s also been linked with the AC Milan job. His favorite system is 4-3-3, the same that has allowed Sassuolo to fight to qualify to Europe.

STEFANO PIOLI – The former Bologna boss will no longer be Lazio’s coach next season. After having reached a Champions League spot last season, Lazio’s form has been quite unpredictable this season and Pioli could be given the chance to came back to Florence after having played there from 1989 until 1995.

ROBERTO DONADONI – Probably the most underrated Serie A manager. His way to lead Parma until the end of last season was impressive, while this year he’s drag Bologna out from crisis after replacing Delio Rossi on the Felsinei’s bench. Donadoni is also a plausible option to become the next Italy boss, a role he had already been covering from 2006 to 2008.

IVAN JURIC – Fiorentina would start a new project with the current Crotone manager sitting on their bench. No secret Gian Piero Gasperini’s influence had been crucial in Djuric’s playing career and it is not a coincidence that Djuric’s favorite formation is a very offensive and spectacular 3-4-3.
