Why Mourinho will not sit on Inter’s bench again

Pressure begins to mount on José Mourinho as Chelsea are struggling with results in this Premier League campaign. According to rumors, the Portuguese manager was given an ultimatum by the West London club: if he’d fail to win the next two games against Stoke City and Liverpool, he will be sacked.

ESPN reports that under the circumstances, Mourinho has prompt his intermediaries to sound out fresh options in case he is sacked by Chelsea.

Inter and PSG top the list of Mourinho’s favorite clubs, nevertheless there are not many chances for the 52 year old to re-join the club where he won a legendary treble back in 2010.

First of all, Roberto Mancini has just kicked off his Inter project after taking over Mazzarri last November. The former Manchester City boss had a massive influence in the club’s summer transfer campaign and also the team’s shape is not bad at all as Inter are just two points far from Serie A leaders Roma.

Second, former Inter manager Walter Mazzarri is still under contract with the Nerazzurri. According to the last club’s financial report, it doesn’t seem that Erik Thohir could afford paying the wages of three managers all together.

Even after that Mazzarri’s contract with the club will be expired (June 2016), it feels from another world thinking that Mourinho could take over Mancini as Inter are struggling awith their finances and, again, Thohir could not afford sacking Mancini and hiring the Portuguese boss.

Third, Mourinho is believed to have asked Chelsea a € 30 million payout in case he is sacked. This will make Roman Abramovich’s final call not as straightforward as it would appear.

In case Mourinho will face a Chelsea exit, it is much more likely that the Portuguese boss will take over the Ligue 1 giants PSG rather than Inter.
