With Icardi and Mancini on the brink, Inter's future is uncertain

With less than a month to go from the beginning of the new Serie A season, things are hardly looking very stable in Milan.

Inter have yet to find a cure for two big headaches: Roberto Mancini and Mauro Icardi. The former was hardly left satisfied after chat with president Thohir. Ironically, with Suning taking over the majority of the club’s shares, it is former president Massimo Moratti whose opinion carries more sway around here.

Mancini’s uncertain future will probably be determined when he meets Zhang Jindong (or one of his trusted subordinates) in New York.

Mauro Icardi, on the other hand, is being courted by a number of clubs, including Napoli, who have joined Juventus, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

So far Inter have yet to accept either Napoli’s offers or Wanda Icardi’s demand for a bigger deal, but the feeling is that they’ll have to accept one or the other.

Can Suning really accept to give away a young striker, a hot commodity on the market? It probably depends on the alternatives… and buying Edin Dzeko would be a tragic own goal, giving away a 23-year-old to bring in a declining 30-year-old. It won’t happen… we hope.
