WOW! Milan, Fiorentina target Di Francesco extends Sassuolo deal

21 April at 20:59

Some bad news for those hopeful Milan fans out there: potential future manager Eusebio Di Francesco has extended his Sassuolo deal. The Neroverdi manager, who took over the Emilian club back in 2012, has renewed his contract, which will now expire in 2019.

Having taken Sassuolo up two seasons ago, Di Francesco has helped the Neroverdi improve season by season, resulting in an 12th-place finish last time round.

Di Francesco's exciting footballing philosphy and proven track record with young, promising players like Domenico Berardi and Nicola Sansone has whetted the appetite of a number of clubs, not least AC Milan, Fiorentina... and Italy.

The former Roma and Azzurri winger has, however, specified that he wants Sassuolo to make some investments to match his ambitions. With the former Serie B side currently lying in 7th place, we would expect these to help the club compete for, and eventually in, the Europa League.
