You wont believe how Italy execs are resisting pressure to fire Tavecchio
The remarkable claim was made to a Sky Sport Italia reporter on Wednesday afternoon by one of Tavecchio’s staff members. The staff member confirmed that, while campaigning for the role of FIGC president, Tavecchio apparently never included the promise that Italy would qualify in his marketing materials.

Mr simpatia #Ulivieri difende #Tavecchio e la tocca decisamente piano...

It’s unclear whether the omission was intentional, or whether it was excluded because qualification has almost been a right for Italy. Either way, justifying Tavecchio’s oversight of the greatest Italian soccer disaster in the last 60 years is unconscionable.
It appears, like the manager he selected to lead the national team, Giampiero Ventura, Tavecchio is intent of seeing out the remainder of his contract with Italy.
