Zanetti ‘surprised’ by Mourinho’s sacking

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti has revealed that he was surprised and shocked by the sacking of Jose Mourinho from Manchester United.

Yesterday afternoon, Manchester United announced that they had parted ways with Mourinho after the club are languishing at sixth in the Premier League and recently lost 3-1 to Liverpool at Anfield.

United announced yesterday that they have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim caretaker manager till the end of the season and will go back to Molde at the end of the season.

Mourinho's former player Javier Zanetti has expressed shock at Jose's sacking and he told Radio Deejay: "He worked a lot on concentration, his training exercises were very intense and focused on this.

"I think he will always be a great coach. Both in Madrid and Manchester in the early days he won, then he went into difficulty, perhaps for questions with the board.

"Difficult to speak from the outside, but we are talking about a coach of great intelligence and ability. Knowing it I think I want to come back soon. Sorry, because it was an unexpected thing."
