FIFA has announced that it has registered 2,451 international transfers (ie from one country to another) in the winter market in January, an increase of 104% over last year.

The total volume of transactions was 320 million dollars, about 235 million euro.

The last transfer was that of defender David Luiz, "whose move from Benfica to Chelsea was validated two minutes before closing", said FIFA.
