Rudiger arrives in London for Chelsea medical ahead of £31m move
The defender has been linked with a move to Wets London for several weeks now, but not it seems that the ball is finally rolling with the £31m switch.
It is thought the medical was hurried along by the Chelsea board, with the hierarchy attempting to appease fiery manager Antonio Conte, after the former-Juventus boss missed out on his number one target Romelu Lukaku – whose unveiling at Man United is imminent.
Conte has been frustrated with the club’s lack of signings so far this summer window, but can rest assured that the reining Premier League champions have all but acquired their top choice defender from Serie A side Roma.
Though the transfer fee is said to be £31m, there are additional costs which could see it rise up to £35m for the 24-year-old German international centre-back.
