AC Milan: Bonucci in London for Best FIFA Football Award

AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci and rossoneri Sporting Director Massimiliano Mirabelli are travelling to London to attend the The Best FIFA Football Awards later today.

Bonucci, who arrived from rivals Juventus this past summer, is in the race to claim the Best Player of the 2016-17 season accolade along with players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, who also are attending the event at the English capital.

He is the only player from AC Milan in the list, with only one other Italian player in the list- Juve stopper Gianluigi Buffon in the list for the best goalkeepers. There are though, two Italian managers in the list for Best Male Manager, with Massimiliano Allegri and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte in the running for the prize.

Bonucci has endured a frustrating start to life at the San Siro and he was sent off in the club’s goalless draw against Genoa recently. While he has made 9 Serie A appearances, there is a need for him to improve his performances and live upto the expectations.
