AC Milan: Gattuso meets Leonardo and Maldini, a win vs. Spal may not be enough

Pressure is mounting on AC Milan head coach Gennaro Gattuso. Despite being heralded as a Rossoneri icon, a poor run-of-form has led many to speculate on the future of the Italian and the club he coaches.

According to what has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, a win against Spal for Gattuso may not be enough to secure his future with the club. Reportedly, the Milan management had asked Gattuso to pick up six points from the games against Frosinone and Spal; to put the Europa League exit and defeat to Fiorentina behind them. However, with a 0-0 draw with Lazio-based Frosinone, Gattuso could be in trouble.

Furthermore, GazSport also suggest that a meeting took place between Gattuso, Leonardo and Paolo Maldini yesterday - with Gattuso not yet being dismissed but the match with Spal remaining integral to Gattuso's future. If the Rossoneri lose or draw, there is likely no way that the Italian will remain at the helm.
