AC Milan: latest team news ahead of Coppa Italia final

AC Milan manager Cristian Brocchi (pictured alongside Adriano Galliani in Milanello today) could decide to change formation in the Coppa Italia final against Juventus on Sunday.

As CM.com Federico Albrizio reports, the Italian tactician deployed Christian Zapata as centre-back alongside Alessio Romagnoli during today’s training session, when Alex and Mexes worked apart from the rest of the team.

Davide Calabria and Mattia De Sciglio could start as wingbacks as Luca Antonelli is still recovering from a muscle injury he picked up against Frosinone two weeks ago.

Brocchi is still uncertain about the system and is keeping all options open. He could swap the rossoneri to a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation. Riccardo Montolivo will definitely start in midfield. The Italy International is the only player who will definitely start on Saturday night against the Old Lady. Everyone has a chance to play from the first minute alongside him: from Andrea Bertolacci to Giacomo Bonaventura, Juraj Kucka and José Mauri.

Same thing for the attack. Carlos Bacca is expected to start, but it is still difficult to predict who could be the Colombian ace’s strike partner or partners, given that Brocchi could eventually decide to deploy a 4-3-3 formation. M'Baye Niang is expected to recover from his injury and be eligible to play the last game of the season
