AC Milan: Niang could leave. Juventus: Ogbonna has signed!

As already explained, AC Milan transfer market strategy foresees that a new player will be signed only if an old one will leave; and, as reported yesterday, it seems henceforth almost impossible to yield 29 year old forward Robinho: the Brazil international has today confirmed through his official website that the negotiation with Santos has failed, and, according to Milan Channel, his agents will meet in the next days the Lombard club’s executives to evaluate the possibility to extend his contract, actually expiring in 2014. Now the rossoneri will have to evaluate other options, like selling 18 year old striker Mbaye Niang, who, as highlighted by calciomercato.com, risks to loose his chances to play in the new formation required by president Berlusconi, or 26 year old right back Ignazio Abate, also tracked, according to the Daily Star, by Arsenal. Meanwhile, Milan are loosing more and more opportunities arriving from the transfer market: Genoa, according to Il Secolo XIX, have definitively overtaken them in the hunt for Catania 29 year old midfielder Francesco Lodi, while Napoli are ready to make a new offer to Cagliari for 26 year old defender Davide Astori.

The news item was in the air, but now it’s official: 25 year old defender Angelo Ogbonna has left Torino to sign a five-year deal with Juventus; the bianconeri will pay to their city rivals 13 million euros in three installments plus bonuses. Meanwhile, according to TMW, 30 year old goalkeeper Rubinho has extended his contract with the Serie A defending champions.
