AC Milan risk missing out on Serie A starlet

After being linked with a swoop for Genoa youngster Pietro Pellegri since the summer, AC Milan could miss out on snapping him up.

The 16-year-old sparked a lot of discussion last season after making his debut for the senior side, while he’s scored two goals in five Serie A outings so far this year.

Unsurprisingly, he attracted plenty of interest due to his initial impact, but Milan are said to no longer be in pole position to secure his signature.

The teenager has received plenty of interest from around Europe as well as from Juventus and other Italian clubs, and that in turn has pushed the Rossoneri down the pecking order.

It remains to be seen whether or not the situation changes in January or next summer, but as Vincenzo Montella’s side continue to toil this year, it could work against them when going up against stiff competition in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, Pellegri made the headlines with a brace against Lazio in September as he looked set for a breakout season. However, his presence in the line-up has waned since and so he also has plenty to prove to earn a big move elsewhere.
