AC Milan set to face heavy competition for Man Utd star

Serie A giants AC Milan will reportedly have a lot of competition to sign Manchester United defender Eric Bailly this January.

Bailly has fallen out of favor at United this season under Jose Mourinho. He had a poor game for the Red Devils against Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this season and that has led to his demise in the ranks at the club, with Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling the prefered first choice defenders.

Sportmediaset now report that while Milan do want Bailly, they will face heavy competition to sign the former Villarreal defender.

Paris Saint-Germain also have Bailly as one of their list of targets, with Thiago Silva not getting any younger with every passing day. Despite the interest, Bailly could still look to stay in the Premier League.

He could either fight for his place, or explore the opportunities of joining Arsenal or Tottenham, who both have been linked with a move for the Ivorian defender.

Bailly arrived at Old Trafford from Villarreal in the summer of 2016 for a fee of 30 million pounds.
