AC Milan, these three players are set to leave in the summer

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, three players will leave Milan at the end of the season as their contracts expire. Jose Mauri, Andrea Bertolacci and Ricardo Montolivo are all set to leave the club in the summer, as they begin a clearout of the perceived ‘deadwood’ at the club. All three have been little more than perifory figures at the club this season, and the leadership have taken the decision to bid them all farewell ahead of next season, regardless of how this season ends.

The future of Ignazio Abate however is not so clear cut. While he is still expected to leave it is reported today that talks are still ongoing regarding his future and that no final decision has been made yet by the club, although they are leaning to moving him on too.

Milan are under tight restrictions regarding their transfer spend and wage bill, imposed on them by Financial Fair Play. If they do not manage to finish inside the Champions League, they will be looking to lower the wage bill even more, and it could be that more players follow these three out of the exit door.
