Agents confirm Spurs interest in Barcelona midfielder

The future of the Portuguese midfielder is likely to be a topic of hot debate after he has failed to settle in well enough at Barcelona and isn’t a part of the club’s first team plans. A host of clubs had drawn links with Andre Gomes this past summer, including Juventus.
Now that Juventus’ interest has cooled, Gomes’ agent has confirmed interest from Premier League giants Spurs, who haven’t lodged an official offer to Barcelona regarding the midfielder, but Jorge Mendes is aware of Tottenham’s interest.
After the emergence of Rodrigo Bentancur in the Juventus first team though, the Old Lady’s priorities have changed and they are looking at a midfielder in the mould of Schalke’s Leon Goretzka.
Gomes was close to joining Spurs on deadline day this past summer, but a possible move fell through and the transfer could not be completed. And Spurs have maintained their interest in the former Benfica man.
