Aguero’s injury spells trouble for City as games against Chelsea and Napoli lay ahead of them

The news everyone dreaded but hardly anyone had expected. It made Argentina and Manchester City fans unlike squirm in their seats.Sergio Aguero was involved in serious car crash today after attending a concert in Holland. The super star striker suffered a broken rib which will effectively rule out the Argentina for close to two months.

This will prove to be a serious loss for both Argentina and more importantly Manchester City who have relied on Aguero to lead the front line in place of Gabriel as he has notched six very important goals and three assists already. The club have outscored and oft times out played their opponents off the park, with Aguero often acting as a focal point for many of their attacks.

His loss will be felt partically this weekend as the Champions elect will face last season’s Chelsea, who are building momentum as they look to retain their title, and challenge on three other fronts. Chelsea showed their intent last weekend as they notched an important 0-4 away victory at Stoke. Chelsea also managed to grind out a 1-2 win over Atletico, a team normally difficult to break down at the best of times.

Conversely Aguero’s absence will be keenly felt in the Champions League as their next opponents are none other than Napoli, who possess a 100% winning record in Serie A. Their brilliant style of play under Sarri is impressed many in the peninsula and despite losing a star striker of their own in Milik, have a habit of re-purposing a winger into a striker with Mertens being the perfect example of this.

Guardiola will need all of tactical acumen in order to arrest any issues that may occur with the absence of Aguero. Gabriel's output has been marginal as a opposed to kast season where he made a name for himself and has been benched for large parts of this season. Now he will be called upon as their only true recognisable forward upfront. Conversely this will also allow him give Sterling and Sane more minutes on the park as their impressive hauls in previous two weeks indicates that City maybe able to handle the loss of their star striker.

If you have Sergio Aguero in your Fantasy Premier League and youve captained him, transfer him out before the deadline for tomorrow's games.
