Allegri ‘not impressed’ by new Juventus signing

Juventus boss Max Allegri is reportedly not happy of how the Old Lady’s new boy Douglas Costa has settled in Turin.

The Brazilian star arrived in Italy from Bayern Munich last summer in a loan deal with option to buy. The bianconeri paid € 6 million for the player’s season loan and have an option to buy set to € 40 million.

Douglas Costa, however, has failed to match his price-tag so far having failed to sign one goal or register any assist in the opening games of the campaign.

Douglas Costa has 8 appearances (391 minutes) with the Old Lady so far in this campaign but has failed to impress the Italian tactician.

La Gazzetta dello Sport points out that Allegri does not only want his attacking wingers to create troubles with dribbling, crosses and shots on goal but also demands his wide players to sacrifice at the back to help the rest of the team and to give his XI some sort of balance.

As of today Douglas Costa has failed to match the expectations of Max Allegri who hopes the Brazilian will show some kind of improvement after the International break. If he fails to do so, the likes of Mario Mandzukic and Federico Bernardeschi have already proved to be reliable options on the wings.
