Aquilani: 'Am I staying at Juve? It will be tough...'

Juventus midfielder, Alberto Aquilani, interviewd by Sky, said:

How would you rate your experience at Juventus?
"I arrived here with the hope of finding some continuity after two years in which I played little. I am here on loan and I know that there is a risk... you know, you are on loan in a great club and perhaps you don't find any space. I am now happy that I found some continuity. Obviously, when you play lots of games, you have ups and downs. It was 4 or 5 years that I didn't play  at this pace. But I am satisfied. The team's results affect the single players as well but we are in a good moment now. We'll do our best to achieve our targets".

Is there a regret for the many setbacks this season?

"Certainly there's disappointment because we lost so many points, we played some bad games and this is cause for much regret. However, I don't like to look back, I like to look ahead. Unfortunately in football there are times when things do not go well, there are ups and downs and this must be accepted. Our position in the standings is not good still, so we need some more positive results to try for the Champions League. I think that this is our goal. "

You said you like to look ahead. Will you stay at Juventus next year? Do you have any signal or is it too early?
"Well, as I said before, I arrived here risking something, because I came on loan, unlike some of my teammates who are in different position. I know that is not easy. I knew already coming here was not an easy thing, but frankly I am calm, I'm not thinking, I never thought about it. Now I'll finish the year, I'l try to give everything, because I was given the opportunity to return to Italy, to play an important role in this team."

You also played in England. We have seen Tottenham, the fifth team in the Premier League, winning against the first team in the Italian Serie A. AS Roma lost at home against a team that in Ukraine has not played a real game for 40 days. Is this a crisis in Italian football?
"Well, I do not know if the word crisis is the right word. I have played there and I can tell you that there are strong teams. There are teams at the same level. For example, Liverpool, which I think is a great team, would play comfortably in Italy, while in England they are now sixth or seventh. I think there is a different culture in training in England, preparing for the match, which then allows you to give something extra on the pitch during the match. "
