Arsenal and Man Utd warned as Barcelona eye possible Coutinho alternative

Philippe Coutinho is not the only star Barcelona have shortlisted to enhance their attacking department. According to a report of Mundo Deportivo, in fact, the La Liga giants have also set their sights on Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.

The contract of the Germany International expires at the end of the season and the Catalan paper claims the 29-year-old could be a possible reinforcement for the blaugrana who are looking to strengthen their attacking and midfielder department signing a player that can play in between the middle of the park and the final third of the pitch.

Ozil has yet to reach an agreement with Arsenal about a possible contract extension and Manchester United have also set their sights on the Germany International.

Having already coached the German during his spell at Real Madrid, José Mourinho is a long time admirer of Ozil and has already demanded his signing to the Red Devils.

It is hard to believe that Arsenal will sell Ozil in the January window although the winter transfer window will be the last chance Arsenal have to sell him, unless the German pens a new deal with the Gunners.
