Arsenal, Chelsea join PSG and Bayern Munich in race for £40m Atletico wantaway

Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco has a glut of elite Premier League clubs chasing him for next season.

The Atletico Madrid outcast has, according to the Sun, made an appearance on Arsenal and Chelsea’s transfer lists. Manchester United had also been linked to the 23-year-old during the past window.

The Wapping paper also picks up on reports indicating that the Colchoneros are open to the idea of filling their pockets, with their man being priced in the £40m range.

This is far lower than the £86 recently reported to have been tabled by both Chelsea and Manchester United, something Carrasco’s agent had confirmed.

The Belgian international has fallen out with Diego Simeone this season, despite scoring six Liga goals and adding two assists.

Bayern and PSG are also big fans of his.

The £86m number derives from the release clause which Atletico very cleverly got Carrasco to agree to in the latest deal he signed with the club as recently as October.
