Arsenal head race for Nice midfielder amid Roma interest

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to beat Serie A side Roma in the hunt for highly-sought after Nice central-midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to 101greatgoals.

Rome were thought to be a head of the race for the Ivory Coast intentional, but have since fumbled over the idea du to Nice holding firm on their 40 million Euro release clause.

The Italians, who finished an impressive second place in the league last season, have been an admirer of Seri ever since their new sporting director Monchi arrived.
But it looks as if they have opted out of the move, with Premier League side Arsenal now in pole position for the 25-year-old Ligue player.

Seri was considered one of the best midfielders in the French league last season, and with Wenger’s watchful eye on the league across the channel, the transfer could be a real possibility as the current F.A Cup champions look to strengthen their number 8 role.
