Arsenal hint at move for Leicester City superstar

Arsenal have hinted that they want to sign Riyad Mahrez.

Boosted by a new 100 million transfer kitty, Coach Arsene Wenger revealed to beIN SPORTS (via Goal) that he is interested in the Algerian.

"We have not made a bid, but personally, I like the player, yes. I think he made a huge impact when they won the championship," Wenger added.

The Algerian has blown hot and cold this season, a disappointment after being voted the PFA Player of the Year in 2015-2016, when Leicester surprised everyone to win the Premier League.

"Like everybody else at Leicester, this season has been more challenging, but it doesn't take away from his qualities,” Wenger continued.

"Have we made a bid for him? No. Not yet. No, we have not.
"When I say 'not yet' it means it could happen. It might not happen."

Recent reports from the British press indicate that the 26-year-old - who has scored ten goals and made five assists in all competitions for the Foxes this season - wants to leave, and feels that he’s gone as far as he can with the King Power Stadium side.

Targeted by Arsenal last summer, Mahrez ended up opting to stay at Leicester.
